Navitech 2017 once again has confirmed its status as Russia’s unique platform which shows benefits of navigation technologies and services in different sectors of economy and business. The trade show ran as part of the Russian Week of High Technologies along with a major event in the communications industry Sviaz 2017. Such format allowed providing insight into achievements in the communications industry, innovative developments in telecommunications and navigation equipment. This year there is some increase in foreign participants testifying to ongoing integration of satellite navigation systems and development of the global market.

Show Highlights

1. Kariot and Mongeo Connected Technology introduced new platforms for carsharing operators. GLONASS AO and its partners (Russian Automobile Fellowship, Cesar Satellite, EuroMobile and Strazh Engineering and Industrial Concern) demonstrated new ERA+ services.
2. Drone Racing Champions CupHD brought together 68 pilots from Russia, Belarus, UAE, and France. The competition took place in Pavilion No.1 on the specially made track occupying 10,000 sq m. According to the organizers’ estimate, competitions of this scale have not been held in Russia before. The 1st prize was given to Rostelecom, the 2nd - Technoserv, the 3rd - Barsuchki. According to Igor Levitin, Aide to the President of Russia, Chairman of the Commission for the Development of General Aviation, “This kind of sport is being developed around the world. I think future pilots and engineers – people who are obsessed with the sky – are born here.”

Associated Events

  • 11th International Navigation Forum,a traditional event in Russia and EEU countries in the field of navigation technologies. They are successfully used in Russia in many sectors of economy, in transport and power industry, in construction, agriculture and defense. Satellite navigation technologies help to save lives on the roads, monitor passenger traffic and freight logistics, and control operation of emergency services and public utilities.

The Forum participants discussed important issues such as global navigation space; new services and business models based on integration of new technologies; development of technologies and services in a smart car and mobile city; future of navigation maps; use of navigation technologies in land management and construction. The Forum also featured the round table devoted to federal projects in transport industry as the basis for future technology development.

  • Russia-China Forum on Using Navigation Technologies. The organizers were China’s Telematics Industry Application Alliance (TIAA) and Glonass Union. The attendees discussed best practices and prospects of Russia-China cooperation in telematics. See more
