Industry Experts Discussed GLONASS Problems at Expocentre

Expocentre continues implementation of the international project “Navigation Systems, Technologies and Services”, which comprises two events: the 8th International Navigation Forum and the 6th International Exhibition – Navitech 2014.

The Navitech 2014 exhibitors showed the industry specialists transport navigation and information systems; navigation equipment for land development, survey, design and construction; vehicle and personal navigation equipment, equipment, LBS; professional navigation equipment, modules and components.

The 8th International Navigation Forum is a key event of the year in the field of commercial use of satellite navigation technologies and, first of all, Russian navigation system GLONASS. The Forum’s main aim is to acquaint the Russian audience with the status and development plans of GLONASS and foreign satellite systems, the government policy on commercial use of GLONASS in Russia and abroad, innovative technologies, and the latest navigation equipment and services.

At the opening of the Forum plenary meeting Chief of the Presidential Administration of Russia Sergei Ivanov said that year by year the Forum brought together more and more participants including foreign ones. He pointed to a rich events programme, where participants discussed topical issues on application and development of navigation and information technologies. “It is also important that both visitors and participants in the Forum can learn about the latest equipment and services offered by the industry at the Navitech 2014 Exhibition which is held here together with the Forum”, said Sergei Ivanov.

Deputy Prime Minister of Russian Government Dmitry Rogozin is positive that “today’s Forum, which brought together the best navigation and information specialists, will facilitate international cooperation in this field, and assist in coming up with effective solutions for development and implementation of satellite navigation.”

The number of participants in the 8th International Navigation Forum amounted to over 1,000 delegates, among them representatives of federal and regional government authorities of Russia and the CIS countries, representatives of leading Russian and foreign navigation, information, automobile and other companies operating in navigation and allied industries.
